Start with the symptom, not a copied preset
There is no tested best-settings preset on this site yet. We have not benchmarked Hood Warfare 2 or verified a complete list of its graphics options. The steps below are a diagnosis checklist, not a promise of more FPS.
Official information is identified and linked where available. Other steps are general Windows and Steam troubleshooting suggestions. Keep a note of your original settings and change one thing at a time so you can tell whether it helps.
| Symptom | First thing to distinguish | Useful evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Low FPS most of the time | PC workload and graphics performance | Hardware, resolution, game build and a repeatable scene |
| Brief freezes or stutter | Frame-time spikes rather than average FPS alone | When it happens, map and background tasks |
| Rubber-banding or delayed actions | Network symptoms versus low rendering FPS | Connection type, time and whether other players are affected |
| No game sound | Selected audio output device | Headset or speakers selected in Windows and the game |
| Cannot enter a match | Version mismatch, error or connection failure | Exact error text and each player's game version |
Check the official requirements and game version
The store's minimum requirements include Windows 10 64-bit version 1909 or newer, an i5-9600K or Ryzen 5 3600, 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 1660 or RX 5600 XT with 6 GB. The recommended listing raises memory to 16 GB. See the full comparison in the getting-started guide and compare it with your actual components.
The developer says to check the version shown at the bottom-right of the menu. If Steam has not offered an available update, fully exit and reopen Steam. Recent official patches include crash, connection, map and audio fixes, so advice based on the launch build can be outdated.
A controlled checklist for low FPS and stutter
These are general PC troubleshooting steps, not changes benchmarked in Hood Warfare 2. The purpose is to identify a bottleneck without changing several unrelated settings at once.
- Write down your CPU, GPU, RAM, screen resolution and game version before testing.
- Close a nonessential background task such as a recording session or a busy browser, then repeat the same scene. Keep it closed only if the result is useful.
- If the game exposes a resolution or graphics-quality control, lower one setting, repeat the same scene, and compare. Do not assume a setting from a different game's guide exists here.
- If you use a laptop with both integrated and dedicated graphics, check which GPU Windows is assigning to the game and test while connected to power.
- Consider the GPU manufacturer's current driver and release notes. Note the existing version before making a driver change.
- Record whether the problem affects every map or only a specific location, and whether it changes when playing alone versus online.
No sound? Check the game's output device
This is a game-specific instruction from the developer: the October 13 update says players with no audio can select their audio output device in settings. Make sure the intended headset or speakers are selected.
As a general Windows check, also confirm that those speakers or headphones play sound outside the game. Output and microphone input are separate devices; hearing the game does not confirm that voice chat can hear you.
What player reports do—and do not—show
A Steam discussion about the Supermarket map describes lag there while other maps feel normal. Settings-video comments also include low-FPS and fluctuating-FPS reports. They establish that individual players have asked for help; they do not identify a confirmed cause or show how common the issue is.
If you report a problem, include your hardware, game build, graphics settings, map, exact symptom and steps that reproduce it. A short clip with those details is more useful than an unexplained FPS number. We will publish tested presets only when we can include the hardware and conditions used.
